If I could live in a decade, it would undoubtedly be the 70s – not because I find anything particularly endearing about the way of life, but because I absolutely love the aesthetic. There are so many iconic makeup looks from the ’70s that I can’t even count, and the fashion speaks for itself. When it comes to flared jeans and oversized sunglasses, I’m all for it.
However, as a beauty editor, I’m more inclined to say that the best thing about the ’70s was the hair. In fact, I’m so obsessed with ’70s hairstyles that I’ve been rocking the same ’70s-inspired style (long and center-parted) for well over a decade.
But super long hair isn’t the only style defining this decade. The ’70s saw everything from shaggy lengths and bangs to blunt bobs and sophisticated afros, and many of these styles remain some of the most timeless hairstyles around today. And next year it looks like ’70s hair will be everywhere.
